Sonic Moviola Inc. ("Musiply," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Musiply platform at musiply.com. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our service.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide

  • Account information: Name, email address, and password (hashed — never stored in plain text).
  • Profile information: Professional role and company or studio affiliation (optional).
  • Project data: Cue sheets, project names, timecodes, status information, notes, and comments.
  • Music files: Audio files you upload to the Music Catalog (when available).
  • Contact data: Information you enter into the Composer CRM (when available).
  • Communications: Feedback you submit, support requests, and survey responses.

Information collected automatically

  • Log data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps.
  • Cookies: Session cookies for authentication (NextAuth.js) and preference cookies for theme selection.

We do not use third-party tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or analytics platforms that sell your data.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information for the following purposes:

  • To provide and maintain the Musiply platform and its features.
  • To authenticate your account and manage your sessions.
  • To send transactional emails, such as password resets and invite notifications.
  • To improve the platform based on aggregated, anonymized usage patterns.
  • To respond to your support requests and feedback.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not use your data for advertising.

4. AI Processing

Musiply uses AI (powered by Anthropic's Claude) for features such as metadata tagging, cue sheet generation, and intelligent search.

  • When AI features process your data, it is sent to Anthropic's API solely for the purpose of providing the requested feature.
  • Anthropic does not use API inputs to train their models.
  • AI processing is performed only on data you explicitly submit to AI-powered features — it is never applied automatically to your content without your action.

5. Data Storage and Security

  • Your data is stored on secure servers hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany/Finland).
  • Audio files are stored in Hetzner Object Storage with encryption at rest.
  • All database connections are encrypted. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt.
  • We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including firewalls, access controls, and regular security reviews.

6. Data Retention

  • Your data is retained for as long as your account is active.
  • If you delete your account, your personal data and project data are permanently deleted within 30 days.
  • Backups containing your data are rotated and purged within 90 days of account deletion.

7. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your data:

  • Access: You can request a complete copy of your data at any time.
  • Correction: You can update your information through the platform or by contacting us.
  • Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data at any time.
  • Export: You can export your cue sheets and project data at any time through the platform's export features.
  • Portability: We support standard export formats (CSV, PDF) so you can take your data with you.

8. Cookies

We use only essential cookies:

  • __Secure-next-auth.session-token — Authentication session (required for the platform to function).
  • theme — Your light/dark mode preference (optional).

We use no third-party cookies, no advertising cookies, and no tracking pixels.

9. Third-Party Services

Musiply integrates with the following third-party services to operate:

  • Anthropic Claude API: Powers AI features (metadata tagging, search). Data processed under Anthropic's API terms and is not used for model training.
  • Hetzner: Server infrastructure and object storage.
  • Cloudflare: DNS, email routing, and DDoS protection.
  • Gmail SMTP: Transactional email delivery (password resets, invitations).

We do not integrate with any advertising networks or data brokers.

10. Children's Privacy

Musiply is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will take steps to delete their account and associated data.

11. International Users

Your data is processed and stored on servers located in Germany and Finland (Hetzner). By using Musiply, you consent to the transfer and processing of your data in these locations.

12. Changes to This Policy

We will notify you of material changes to this Privacy Policy via email at least 30 days before they take effect. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
